Unbearable
The blanket weave
was perfect
Threads of blue and
green subtly blended
Each stitch the same
and not over tensioned
The bear's eyes were
multifaceted
Crystals chosen for
their colour
Set so the iris
looked real
Before being
lacquered laboriously
Sanded and shined
until the rounded globes gleamed
Felted ears and
velvet paws
Perfectly
matched
Adding to the
softness of his face
His once plump
frame, lay mangled
Punctured and torn
in the corner
With the remains of
last week's dinner
The goose feather
stuffing
Indistinguishable
from debris
Littering the floor.
